I am grateful that I am starting this new year with only two WIPs and I really want to finish those before I start any other quilts.
The first one is the Neighborhood Charm Quilt. I started this quilt awhile back, before we moved, and I wanted to finish it before we moved, but that didn't happen. It was originally going to be a surprise for my husband, but I showed him the quilt top once we moved. All I have left on this pretty thing is the quilting and binding!
The second one is the mini Tree Study that I started just shortly after we moved. This one, although it will be easy to finish, it way less done. It shouldn't take me too long to finish.
I hope to finish these two this month!
Now that we've discussed finishing up last year's WIPs, I want to share my re-SEW-lutions!
- My first resolution is to simplify my life and my house. I visited my aunt and uncle in Boise and I was taken aback by how gorgeous their house was. The more I looked at it, the more I realized that they used smart organization and reduced clutter tremendously. I think (read, know) I'm a hoarder by nature (I don't qualify for the show!), so this is a big thing for me. But it's also something that I badly want! I have placed an exception on fabric and books.
- My next resolution is to learn how to cross stitch! I've joined the Woodland Sampler co-organized by Amanda of Hey Porkchop! I am super excited to get started!
- I also want to learn how to cook Japanese food. I shared this book with recipes from Wagamama shortly after Thanksgiving, and I intend to use it!!
- And last, but certainly not least, I want to grow and progress in my quilting and sewing! I want to make my aspirations a reality and I want to blog about it every step of the way!
What are your New Years re-SEW-lutions?
