April Fresh Mini Quilt

As I mentioned yesterday, I really like to keep up with the clubs and bees that I decide to join.  So, just a few days before the end of April, I finally sewed together the Fresh Mini quilt for April!

The moment that I laid out the blocks to sew the top together, I knew it was love.

The flying geese are Center City by Jay McCarroll with Kona Iron and Kona Pale Flesh - it might initially look white, but it's not.  I love that subtlety.

I did not finish this mini quilt, however, because I think it's destined to become a great quilt.  I'm even considering making it big enough to go on our bed.  This little mini is going to be so much more than mini!  I'm sad that I currently have too many other quilty commitments to just work on this straight away!  But, I will make it.  It's begging to be grand.

  1. The first thing I thought when I looked at your pictures was "too bad it's a mini -- this would look so good in a full-sized quilt"! I hope you share pictures when you get the time to enlarge it -- I love the way it's turning out so far!

  6. This is really cute, but I have to say that the color name "pale flesh" is sort of grossing me out. Ew. :)

  7. I love the colors and fabrics you chose. I love it. I am doing poorly with my blocks and mini quilts. I have only printed the patterns :-(

  11. Curious to know how you'll quilt it. I've got flying geese boarders on a quilt I'm doing now and I'm stuck for ideas, can you help?
