I'm calling this the third Lillian + Oliver because I first used this pattern to help my mom make her first quilt and then I later used the pattern again to make a quilt for my best friend. At any rate, this is a great pattern. It's simple and fast, yet satisfying. Anyways, here's the latest quilt top!
This quilt is going to be for one of my mom's coworkers. Apparently she wanted it to compliment the first quilt top she made because she used pretty much the same fabric, just in different color ways.
I think I like this quilt more, though. I guess it just doesn't feel as busy.
My favorite part of this quilt is the sashing. I am totally in love with this little pebble like print from Sweetwater's Noteworthy line. We're using this same print for the binding too and I can't wait to see how it looks! I was so happy to use a scrap of this fabric on my little tote bag since I love it so much.
I am pretty excited to get this little thing all quilted up and bound. Including this one, I have five quilts that need to be finished by June. I've recently realized that the thought of that makes me feel overwhelmed... it'll be great to push myself, though, and I'm looking forward to the rush!!
Well, happy Friday my friends! I hope you have an excellent Spring weekend!

That's pretty! I really like the fabrics and look the white sashing gives it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of this quilt. The pebble sashing really finishes the quilt off nicely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt. I like that pebble type fabric you used in the sashing as well.
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt top. I'm always on the lookout for a good one, and this one is great because if you use things like plaids or other directionals, you don't have to worry so much about them not matching up just right. LOVE that!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have some of that pebble print squirreled away for a rainy day. Great use of it for the sashing.
Beau-tee-ful!!! Seriously sooo pretty. I was looking at your pics first and was thinking oooh, WHAT is that sashing fabric, I just looove it???!!! And then I read your words - and you so love it too - it is super fun, right??!!!! Great finish - now how to quilt???
